Wow. A little harsh don't you think? Cory was drafted in the first round and signed a 2 year 2.2M contract. No telling what would have happenedif he stayed another year, had to defer to Myck Kabongo and deal with a much, much stronger draft class. The kids decision to enter the draft last got him $2.2M and in my opinion was a great decision.

These people should not be raising longhorns. We raise longhorns for their beauty and their personalities. If they are worried about safety issues then they need to work with them from birth and the longhorn will be a gentle pet. They are generally mean if they have been treated badly or a mother will protect her calf. My point is they are like humans. They need to be treated with love and respect. This is neither!!

Common practice or not, you need to look at the motivation here. The sole purpose was to insult the University of Texas' mascot. The intent was originally to bring this Longhorn out to midfield at halftime of the last Texas vs. A&M game. I am not saying it's not a common practice, but in this instance, it was not done for any viable reason other than to insult a rival, and use an animal to do it.

Fair enough. At a minimum this seems like an extreme situation to me, however. I can't see how they could grow to that much of a curve without being tampered with, and in my opinion, agree with it or not, that is inhumane.

This is a natural occurrence in cattle, it is not animal cruelty. I suggest you do your research before you accuse people of animal cruelty. Sometimes weights are put on them to make them grow downwards but that is to keep them from goring each other. It is not cruel either it is a safety issue. I have seen horns grow in all different directions naturally. There are a lot of factors in the way horns grow. Some are genetics or environmental. They do grow in different directions. I have seen a cow that had one "normal" horn grew upwards and one that grew forwards.

Kris, great take and you could be onto something. I see this all the time up here in the great north. Nebraska is seldom in the running for top wide outs because they run so much. Like you said, Texas is in a territory that has great recruits and they'll be able to lure some because they are Texas. Nebraska as to try and get them to come from somewhere in the south to a run based run offense. Tough to do.

I think the ass who wrote this article is dumber than this kid. College kids make mistakes. Sure blazin fat before a game isn't the best idea but then again its not like it effect your play on any level.

I agree with Kriss.. This is dumb!!!! Senior leaders who are participating in the highest level of college sports should be held to a higher standard.. It goes with the territory... Anyone can smoke pot.. not just anyone however can play baseball at this level and be a good example for the community!!!

This must be one of the dumbest articles I have ever read. How easy is it to: #1 Call someone dumb when they have made a mistake? #2 Call someone dumb again for the same mistake and then #3 Call someone dumb again for the same mistake? That's the trifecta of dumb and while Jordan made a split second decision to bolt, this writer had as much time as he wanted to write this article. But just for the record, I suspect Jordan's decision to urinate was based on a full bladder not his elevation, if you smoke pot, you have to do it sometime and who cares if a college kid smokes pot anyway, much less concludes he has destroyed his life by getting caught with some. Kris Hughes must have grown up under a Puritanical Rock somewhere. It would be best for him to crawl back under it. But before you go Kris, abstinence does not work for everyone, that's why they make condoms.

It was probably Misery that started the demise. They were the one that tried to jump the gun about the B1G expansion study to say they thought they would be the best fit for the B1G. When it was released Neb would be the B1G's preference is when Tex told Neb to either stay or go. Then Neb started to have serious discussions with B1G. So Tex started to talk with PAC about the SWC schools going west. Colorado didn't want to be left out and convinced the PAC they were a better fit than Tex for the PAC.
